17 Aug 2009 Filming is hard work

A lot of people may not understand that the process of putting together a short video is often a very grueling undertaking.

I remember how I used to laugh when I’d read articles focusing on celebrities and they’d say things like, “It was a very rough shoot, 15 hours straight!”

I’d say to myself: “Come on, you’re getting paid big bucks, who cares how long it takes?”

Now, granted I’ve never shot anything that long and I’m not a celebrity, I can totally appreciate where they are coming from.

I finally finished filming the online series Hijabtrendz Television for my fashion/beauty/entertainment website and I’m totally pooped!

I’m hoping people will enjoy this new series, we’re on season four now, but you never know. I’ve gotten some pretty strange comments from folks, everything from criticizing the quality to reprimanding me for *gasp* making hijab fashionable.

I wish they could see just how much work goes into putting together a 5 minute segment. It ain’t easy! Not to mention I’m working with equipment that is slowly aging before my eyes.

Oh well, you can’t please everyone but yourself, so as long as I’m happy I’ll keep at it.

All I can do is try to improve a little more each time I shoot a new series and hope some producer somewhere *hint* * hint* will pick up the show.
